This is for the Christmas Day game. We'll get the rest of the games posted on Saturday.
San Diego @ Tennessee James: This a real treat for a Christmas game, if you ask me. Both of these teams have explosive offenses and dynamic players that you just don't want to take your eyes off of. Philip Rivers has leapfrogged Brett Favre in the MVP race and really only has Peyton Manning and Drew Brees to worry about now. Chris Johnson, on the other side, needs one huge game to put himself in a position to break Eric Dickerson's all-time rushing record in Week 17. He should get ample opportunities in this game seeing as how San Diego's rush defense isn't exactly something to write home about. All in all, I see this being a major shootout where San Diego has too much to handle in Johnson and Rivers comes up just short in the 4th quarter. Titans 35 -- Chargers 33
Matt: After winning against the Bengals in week 15, the Chargers have all but locked up the second bye week in the AFC. A win here or a Patriot loss will make the final game of the season essentially meaningless for this team and could allow them to have the option of resting many key players for better than two weeks headed into the playoffs. The Titans are still in the hunt, but their hopes are on life support. A win this week still leaves them in hunt, but they need to finish with a better record than all but the Texans in the Wildcard race as they lose tiebreakers with every other team. This could have made a great comeback story for Vince Young, as it turns out, it is still a good story. 0-6 is just too much to overcome. I expect both teams to come out playing tough football from start to finish, and I could foresee this one coming down to the fourth quarter or even OT. I’d feel better about this pick if the Chargers weren’t on the road. Chargers 24-21
John: I'm going Titans. I think SD was pushed hard last week by the Bengals and they will be again this week. Their run has been amazing, but it will end here. They've got the 2 seed pretty much locked up, so they can take their foot off the pedal a little bit. Too much Chris Johnson here. Titans 27-23
See you on Saturday for the rest of the week's picks.
